A Hike for Mike

Just over a week ago my community put on Relay For Life. It was a bittersweet moment knowing a person very important to me, Mike Terrill, was participating. Sweet in the way that Mike was able to participate in the Survivor's Lap after beating all of the timelines assigned to him; sad that he had to be in this situation. I was having a minor gum surgery the day of the Relay so I didn't know if I would be able to attend. Those friends and family who could not be there for Mike during the Relay decided to take walks and later post photos of their walk in support of the Terrill's. So, the day before the Relay For Life, I hiked Harney Peak and tracked down the most adorable chipmunks I could for Mike. Here's the photos. If anyone wishes, here is a link to Mike's personal blog: http://miketerrill.wordpress.com/ Please check it out, he's a great writer and the most dedicated friend anyone could ever have. You can also find Mike and his support team on Facebook, group: Curing Cancer with a Smile! The group is for everyone. I'm serious! Curing Cancer with a Smile is designed to create a support net for people of all sorts, whether you have cancer, are a caregiver or simply a supporter with your own day to day problems. Anyway, CHECK MIKE OUT and enjoy the photos!

Florida Butterflies

Some more photos from Florida! These were taken down in the Key West Butterfly & Nature Conservatory.

Isn't this moth huge!? (top) It was as large as my two hands put together!

Florida Parrots

Photos from "Theater of the Sea" in the Florida Keys. The facility was fantastic and the shows were a blast!

You and I shall Paint the Sky

Photos taken while walking around the University of South Dakota, Vermillion, campus.

Modern Flowers

This was a fun project that my dad and my parents set up. There was a small white flower outside our house which we took and set in a small bowl of water that we put some blue food coloring into. After that, we had fun trying different colored paper backgrounds. The only thing I did with the photos was increasing the contrast; unfortunately, in doing so, the black one and yellow one got a little blurry.

Florida Flowers May 2013

This May I traveled down to Florida to visit my sister and her family. All in all, the trip was fantastic! I just thought I'd share some of my favorite flower photos. Unfortunately, I'm not no expert in plants so I am unable to tell you what any of these are. However, they were beautiful!
